Scientist-Astronaut Harrison Schmitt

Dr. Harrison Schmitt (1935-). Geologist. The only scientist who stepped on the Moon so far. He worked at the U.S. Geological Survey's Astrogeology Center, and supported the Apollo project from geological side. Then, he was selected to a member of the first group of scientist-astronauts in 1965. After the backup crew for Apollo 15, he was assigned to Apollo 17 crew. (Provided by Dr. Harrison Schmitt)
